One day, a simple question suddenly came to mind.
Why are Jews often described as intelligent?
The proportion of Nobel Prize winners of Jewish background is strikingly high compared to their share of the global population.
In fields such as finance, science, literature, and philosophy, Jewish names appear again and again.
Yet, when you think about it carefully, it also seems a little puzzling.

Jews are not a race.
They are a community defined largely by religion, shared history, and culture.
So why has the idea that “Jews are intelligent” been repeated across the world for generations?
Curious about this, I asked a Jewish acquaintance of mine who lives nearby.
