With over 40 years of experience as a “Master of Massage,” I have trained more than 100 apprentices.
However, it is still shocking to me that many people continue to harbor the misconception that “massage = illicit activity.”
The techniques I have developed are not merely for relaxation; they possess the power to alleviate pain and heal the body and mind from the root.
Despite this, the true value of massage is still not fully understood in Japan.
In this article, I will discuss why I chose this path, the misunderstandings that have spread, and the challenges I face in promoting the real value of massage.
I firmly believe that by understanding massage correctly, health can undoubtedly be enhanced.

During my high school years, while studying abroad in the United States, I suffered from severe back pain and received my first professional massage.
It was during this time that I learned that in the United States, massage therapists are recognized as professionals on par with doctors, with a high social status that includes a four-year university education and national certification.
I was deeply impressed by the expertise involved.
